Fatih University, one of Türkiye’s leading foundation universities, had a large campus in Istanbul and was known for its high academic standards and international teaching staff. At its peak, the institution served thousands of students and staff, prioritizing quality education and service to society. It was recognized for its modern facilities and commitment to academic excellence.

Following political changes, the institution was closed by government decree. The decree provided for the closure of institutions considered to be linked to certain organizations. Accordingly, all assets were transferred to the Treasury.

Story

    Foundation

    Fatih University was formally established and began its journey of serving society through quality education and services.

After closure

How building, name, and ownership changed from closure to today.

After the decree was published, Fatih University’s legal personality was terminated. In line with measures adopted under the state of emergency, all movable and immovable property, assets, receivables and rights were transferred to the state without any compensation. The broad physical campus, including facilities, dormitories and research centers, was taken over by the state. The existing administrative structure was dissolved and all activities were immediately halted.
