How building, name, and ownership changed from closure to today.
Established in 2008 by the Turgut Özal Thought and Action Foundation and officially beginning education in 2009, Turgut Özal University was one of Ankara's most prestigious private universities. Particularly after taking over Fatih University's medical faculty and hospital in Ankara in 2013, it became one of Turkey's leading centers in medical education and advanced surgical research.
Also prominent in Law, Engineering, and Economics, the institution drew attention with its international scientific publications and well-equipped medical faculty hospital. However, it was completely closed down by Statutory Decree No. 667 dated July 23, 2016, issued under the State of Emergency following July 15, 2016.

Physical Reallocation and Hospital Status
Immediately after the closure, the massive campus area and medical faculty buildings in Etlik were entirely transferred to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
The management of the hospital, which possessed millions of liras worth of high-tech medical equipment, passed to the Ministry of Health. All corporate identity, logos, and signs on the campus were erased, destroying the institution's memory.
