FEM Tutoring Centers

İstanbul · Üsküdar

FEM Tutoring Centers was a widespread network of private education institutions founded in Istanbul in 1985 under the name Fırat Education Center and operating in the field of preparation for central examinations in Türkiye. The institution offered students preparing for high school and university entrance exams subject instruction, test practice, mock exams, study sessions and guidance services. Over time, FEM Tutoring Centers expanded beyond Istanbul and became a well-known exam-preparation brand in many provinces of Türkiye. Especially in the 1990s and 2000s, within an education system shaped by exam success, it became one of the important stops on the path to university and selective high schools for many students. With the MEB Law adopted in 2014, the process of closing tutoring centers and converting them into private schools began. In 2016, under Decree-Law No. 667 issued after 15 July, private education institutions bearing the FEM name were closed; their movable and immovable assets, rights, receivables, documents and records were deemed to have been transferred to the Treasury.
